- BIOCONSTRUCTION - Ecological houses

Some people started to apply the ecology to the arquitecture, and they created the ecohouses.

What are they?

An ecohouse, is a house constructed to reduce its footprint of carbon emisions  and energy used. This is made with different types of technology and materials that are good for our enviroment

What are they based on?

They are based in different technics that help them to accomplish its main purpose. For example:

-Using renewable energy systems in the house: this will be respectful for our planet, because using non-renewable energies, increments the emissions of greenhouse gases (and we don't want this). The most common renewable energy that are used in this houses is the solar energy, however, if near your house there is a lot of wind, you can also use a wind turbine to produce energy.

-Construct big windows: This can sound kind of silly, but it isn't. Constructing big windows, can reduce energy, because the bigger the window is the more quantity of light you have inside home. So you don't have to open the lights and waste unnecessary energy.

-A rainwater collector, it's composed of different parts. The first part is the continuous guttering, that collect the rainwater and transport it to the storage tank. Then the water goes from the tank to the filter of rainwater. Finally, there's a system of pipes that lead the filtered water to different parts of the house (Ex: the bathroom, the garden...).

-Solar thermal: this type of renewable energy is similar to the solar energy. But, the difference is that the main purpose of the solar thermal energy is to heat water through solar panels with littles pipes inside of them, that are fulled of water to heat. This can heat water without the use of non-renewable energies.

-Use insulation: To prevent the solar heat from escaping, so you won't have to use a lot of energy.0oo9

This are some technics and requirements to build an ecologic house.

What are the differences between a normal house and an ecologic house?

In a normal house, you use more non-renewable energies, you emit more greenhouse gases...
But in a eco-house, you use more renewable energies instead of non-renewable ones, you emit less greenhouse gases.
In conclusion, it's better for our planet living in a eco-house instead of living in a normal house.

Here you have some examples of eco-houses:

- BIOCONSTRUCTION - Finnland

Finnland is making real advances in sustainable architecture. On of them is building with wood, this has to main reasons: -Finnland is full of forests, so they have a lot of wood. -The wood of the houses captures the CO2 from the air, such as trees do. 1 m3 of wood has 1 tone of CO2 aprox. And a Finnish house has 30 tones of CO2 aprox. Example of a finnish wooden house.

The egg falling

Hi everyone! Today  our are going to explain my project. Our project is called "The egg falling". It consists in throwing an egg throw a high place with some kind of structure that prevents of breaking it. As you know our blog it's about technology and ecology, so we made a eco-structure with reused materials. We propoused a smart and sustainable solutions. We cut a sponge in half, then we put the egg between the two halves and we closed it with two reused elastic bands. Finally we put it inside four old socks with cereals and corn between them. This is a sketch of our structure: Our materials were ecofriendly: The sponge, the socks and the elastic bands were reused. It's important to be conscious about our planet, because we want a good future, and we won't get a future if we keep trowing things in the ocean, or using CO2 to get energy for moving from a point to an other. We have to stop doing things without thinking before. We did an excel about the
