- BIOCONSTRUCTION - Finnland

Finnland is making real advances in sustainable architecture. On of them is building with wood, this has to main reasons:

-Finnland is full of forests, so they have a lot of wood.

-The wood of the houses captures the CO2 from the air, such as trees do.

1 m3 of wood has 1 tone of CO2 aprox.

And a Finnish house has 30 tones of CO2 aprox.

Example of a finnish wooden house.

The egg falling

Hi everyone! Today  our are going to explain my project. Our project is called "The egg falling". It consists in throwing an egg throw a high place with some kind of structure that prevents of breaking it. As you know our blog it's about technology and ecology, so we made a eco-structure with reused materials. We propoused a smart and sustainable solutions. We cut a sponge in half, then we put the egg between the two halves and we closed it with two reused elastic bands. Finally we put it inside four old socks with cereals and corn between them. This is a sketch of our structure: Our materials were ecofriendly: The sponge, the socks and the elastic bands were reused. It's important to be conscious about our planet, because we want a good future, and we won't get a future if we keep trowing things in the ocean, or using CO2 to get energy for moving from a point to an other. We have to stop doing things without thinking before. We did an excel about the ...

- BIOCONSTRUCTION - Materials

Hi! Today, I'm going to write about the importance of mixing the ecology with the architecture. It is significant because, we have a really alarming issue with our planet. We are creating tons of plastic that they are finnally thrown into the ocean. We are emiting a lot of gasses that are damaging for our planet. Some solutions are to reduce the energy, to reduce the plastic... We have to introduce this solutions in our normal life. So introducing this to our homes and buildings is a good idea. First of all, we have to work with materials that are well for our planet. A building has a lot of diferent parts, and each part requires diferent materials with diferent properties. For the structure we can use: - Stones  are sustainable, because they are directly extracted from the nature. This stones are taken to a factory to mold the stone to the shape that you want. This means that you have used energy, but the stone still natural, it hasn't have chemical products that can ch...
